I’ll keep this short – the most recent scan (Feb. 22, 2026) shows more tumor shrinkage. In August 2025, the tumor was 10.4 cm x 8 cm, in early November it was 9.7 cm x 7 cm, and now it is 7.8 cm x 5.2 cm. After the second scan on Nov. 3, and looking ahead to cycles 7 and 8 of combined chemo-immunotherapy, I wrote, “if I could get it down to 7.5 cm x 6 cm, I’d be delighted. At the moment, that doesn’t seem realistic, but we’ll see…” Well, it turns out this was realistic thinking after all, not wishful thinking, and I am delighted!
The tumor is probably still too big for surgical removal, and surgery depends as much, maybe more, on where the tumor is (it might still be too tangled up with various veins), but I am joyful! I don’t yet know what this means for a treatment plan. We are still waiting to see if Health Canada will approve exceptional usage of Zeno, so probably I will just continue for now with the monthly immunotherapy (durvalumab). However, since it seems like the combined chemo-immunotherapy worked better than anticipated, I may see if my oncologist is willing to let me go back on that.
Take a moment of joy for me today!
